The Gilded 4

This circle of the Gilded blurs the boundary between presence and purpose. Heroes without clarity, warriors without struggle, and legends built on wealth, technology, or sheer visibility stand side by side; some genuinely exceptional, others merely convincing. In a culture where appearance often outweighs effort, even power itself becomes difficult to measure.
RetroMan Prime
RetroMan Prime is a retro-futuristic superhero whose presence at major confrontations is undeniable, even if his actual contributions remain unclear. Often seen standing alongside true heroes, he projects confidence, legacy, and purpose, yet observers struggle to recall what he did beyond being there. Whether this is deliberate misdirection, calculated branding, or something stranger, RetroMan Prime remains a mystery; proof that within the Gilded, presence alone can sometimes substitute for impact.
Vera Chrome
Vera Chrome is a lethal mercenary who pairs impeccable taste with uncompromising competence. Extensively augmented with high-end cybernetics, her physical enhancements amplify an already formidable skill set, making her one of the most genuinely dangerous members of the Gilded. Unlike many of her peers, Vera is fully self-actualized and disciplined; her indulgence in luxury and excess is not a substitute for ability, but a reward she allows herself after a job done perfectly.
Chas-R9
Chas-R9 is an android built for extreme physical performance, originally designed for labor, security, and high-risk engagement. Having modified his own chassis with upgraded armor, sensors, and recording systems, he reinvented himself as an influencer adventurer, documenting hunts, treasure expeditions, and exotic locales for a massive audience. While his feats are undeniably impressive, the line between genuine danger and carefully managed spectacle is blurred by his durability, raising the question of whether risk means the same thing to him as it does to his viewers.
Gromplet
Gromplet is a homunculus with a squat, bestial form resembling a winged troll or sasquatch, originally created by Zero to serve as a butler. Dutiful when required but irrepressible when free, he has fully embraced the Gilded lifestyle, spending his downtime partying, indulging, and exploring excess with childlike enthusiasm. Though physically powerful and surprisingly capable, Gromplet approaches life without introspection or restraint, content simply to enjoy whatever experience comes next.
Maxx Arms
Maxx Arms is a painfully thin man with aspirations of fitness fame and none of the patience to earn it. Using his family’s wealth, he replaced discipline with synthetic muscle implants, granting himself enormous, superhuman arms while leaving the rest of his body largely unmodified. Though capable of astonishing feats of strength, this imbalance often results in injury, instability, and self-inflicted damage, making Maxx a walking example of what happens when access replaces effort.
