The Gilded 5

Not all members of the Gilded are frivolous. Some wear excess like camouflage, hiding ruthlessness, ancient knowledge, or quiet mastery beneath spectacle and charm. In this circle, the line between indulgence and threat is thin and often crossed without warning.
Mouraille Samba
Mouraille Samba is a billionaire crime lord and voodoo priest whose influence stretches across markets, cities, and realities. Slim, impeccably dressed, and augmented with not-so-discreet cybernetic implants, he wields superstition, technology, and capital with equal precision. As charming as he is ruthless, Mouraille prefers manipulation to force, binding enemies through debt, fear, and ritual long before violence becomes necessary. Among the Gilded, he represents indulgence weaponized, where access becomes control and spectacle masks absolute authority.
Axis
Axis is an impish, limbless entity who drifts through realities with unsettling ease, his floating hands and feet moving independently of any visible mechanism. Equal parts fairy tale trickster and cosmic anomaly, he exhibits abilities that could be advanced technology, genuine magic, or something that defies categorization entirely. Cheerful, curious, and impossible to pin down, Axis seems less concerned with rules, borders, or causality than with experience itself, treating the multiverse like a place he’s always belonged.
Vertex
Vertex is Axis’s counterpart; identical in nature, ability, and mystery, yet distinct in presence. Whether sibling, clone, lover, or alternate-universe reflection remains unknown, but the two are almost always seen together, acting with flawless coordination. Their movements mirror one another so precisely that it often feels as though a single consciousness is operating across two bodies. Where Axis is playful, Vertex is focused, and together they embody a form of access so complete it borders on omnipresence.
Trevor Greylock
Trevor Greylock is a gentleman thief who hides extraordinary skill beneath the appearance of a hapless tourist. Stocky, soft-spoken, and perpetually underestimated, he moves through secure spaces with surprising agility, using charm, misdirection, and his trick-laden umbrella to bypass danger. Drawing inspiration from classic rogues and opportunists, Trevor treats theft as a puzzle rather than a crime, delighting in slipping past defenses designed to stop more obvious threats.
Crispin Thornwhistle
Crispin Thornwhistle exists in a state of deliberate ambiguity, appearing equally likely to be a profoundly wise wizard or a destitute eccentric playing a role. Draped in layered robes, charms, and curios, he speaks in riddles, indulges freely, and offers insights that are either nonsense or unsettlingly accurate. Whether Crispin possesses genuine arcane power or merely understands people, and the Gilded, too well is impossible to say, but those who dismiss him outright often regret it.
